Summer Produce

A few pictures of the garden our summer produce! We've canned around 24 quarts of pickles already, froze a ton of beans and corn, and we are getting some great tomatoes and peppers! Our raspberries are coming along nicely again - not enough for a pie yet (hopefully we'll get enough...it's my favorite!), but at least there's enough to enjoy off the plant, or over ice cream a couple of times a week!

Swimming at G&G Cerny's Pond

On Sunday, Sarah and Berkley went to visit Grandma and Grandpa Cerny (who were also watching cousin Gianna for a few days). We had yummy ribs on the grill and spent some time swimming in the pond! The water is up higher than ever after all the rain this year, so everyone wanted to take advantage of it! We didn't venture too far off shore so that Sarah could touch bottom where we were safe and secure.G & G Cerny had a cute baby float that Berkley got to try out too, so that was fun!

Summer fun!

Berkley is doing great! No teeth yet, but she seems to be dealing with it all much better lately. She's super close to crawling - getting up on all fours and scooting a bit backwards, but nothing forward yet. She's just so alert and intrigued by everything and everyone around her, it's great to see her taking it all in and learning everyday! She has been saying mama and dada a lot, reaches for us when we come near her, and overall is such a happy baby, and so much fun to be around!

Daycare continues to go well. For most of the summer she's been one of only 2 infants at the center. With school starting soon, more kids are coming back to daycare though, so they'll have 4 by the end of the month. It's cute to see her happy to get there, and the kids yelling "Berkley's here!" with excitement when we arrive in the morning. She's still there Mon-Wed each week, and home with Mom on Thursday & Friday.

The summer has been fun and it's hard to imagine that fall is just around the corner! Berkley has been having fun in our little baby pool, and she went swimming in a big pool with Mom at a birthday party last weekend too! Here are some long overdue pictures from the past few weeks...

Her first touch of a basketball...she was quite intrigued by it at first, but then suddenly got scared of it. We had to hide it under the table before she freaked out!
