Sledding

On Saturday we took Berkley sledding for the first time, finally getting use out of the sled she got from Grandma and Grandpa Weber for Christmas! She's gone at daycare before, but never with us at home...it's just been too darn cold whenever we were all available to do it together! At first she was kind of indifferent, but then really started to have some fun with it. Daddy took her out again in the afternoon while I was away, and apparently she tipped over at one point, so we'll see if she's scared to go again :)

There must have been a reason the last post went up before I got the video uploaded...she was just taking a few steps in the original video set. But then on Thursday this week she really started taking off! She is walking from room to room and doing so great! Here's a video of a couple of her recent walks:

Baby steps...

Berkley is getting better at walking every day! She does great walking around 5-8 steps between mom and dad, between furniture pieces, or just moving to get to something that intrigues her! Here she is practicing with Mom last week :)

One year check up

Berkley is doing great! We had her 1 year check up just after her birthday, and got a clean bill of health per usual. She didn't gain much weight at all since her last check up (at 9 months) - and is now 21 pounds 8 oz and down into the 58th percentile. Her height; however, is another story! She is 31.5 inches - which is in the 98.5% percentile! I can't say I ever thought I'd have a tall baby! :)

Birthday cake, ice cream & spaghetti!

Berkley is working on getting used to transitioning to "real" food - somedays are better than others, and when it comes to fruits and veggies - she's pretty particular and still just seems to want the purees. She had no problem switching to whole milk though, so that was good - and she's exclusively on sippy cups too! The best part about that? No more bottles to wash! Definitely a milestone I'm happy about! Here she is enjoying her 2nd night of birthday cake, her first taste of ice cream (homemade even!) and a picture montage with video of her enjoying her first spaghetti dinner!

Happy 1st Birthday!!

Berkley celebrated her 1st birthday this week on Monday! We had a small party for her on Saturday with the Grandparents and Aunt Amy, Uncle Scott, and Gianna. She got lots of fun new presents (including some from Aunt Rachel, Uncle Dan, Joey & Jack) and had lots of fun! She played with the frosting on the cake a bit - but it didn't take long before she really wanted out of her chair and into the bath! She didn't eat any cake at her party - but happily gobbled it down the next night and enjoyed the sugar high :) Here are a few pictures from the birthday fun!
