Chicken Update

Wow - the chickens are getting big...and stinky! After just about a week in the house, we moved the chickens to the front porch. Ben had to expand their home to be twice as big, and now today moved them to their (home-made and portable) outdoor chicken coop! It will be good to have the porch back and not so stinky! Here are a few pictures from the past week or so, starting out with an intrigued steven checking out the chickens and feeling a glow from their heat lamp!

Sorry it's taken so long to get new pictures up! Being back at work definitely changes the amount of free time I have to do this type of thing! Being back at work has actually been a little easier than I expected it to be - but I'm guessing that's due to the fact that it's only 3 days a week, and that Berkley is still comfy at home with Daddy and/or Grandma. Once she's at daycare I'm sure I'll have a harder transition! The days I work are hectic though! I'm usually home from work around 5:45pm, at which point I feed her and spend some time with her before making dinner. By the time we are done eating it's nearly 7:30 and we start getting ready for bathtime, eating, and bedtime. That's usually wrapping up by around 8:30, followed by dinner clean up, and maybe an hour to relax before heading to bed. Craziness!

She had been sleeping through the night for several weeks in a row, until last weekend she had a few nights of waking up and wanting to eat. She's been eating a lot more lately, so I think she's just maybe not getting enough before heading to bed. When she starts on solids (between 4-6 months) I'm sure that will help too!

Here are pictures from the week of 4/11-4/18 (13 weeks old)...she's doing well sitting up, when supported. The pictures of her in the Bumbo seat are from the first time she sat in it...she definitely seems to prefer being upright as opposed to laying down these days! She's also grasping toys and trying to put them all in her mouth!

Chickens!!

We are new parents...again!! Our chickens (30 of them!) arrived today and they are officially settled in. The cats have yet to realize they are sharing a home with birds...should be interesting when they do! They are doing a lot of chirping and are just as cute as can be (second to Berkley of course)!
