Our sweetie pie is doing great - so big and strong, sitting up good (with a little support), and enjoying her first few days of hot weather! One week until Daddy's back to work and daycare starts! We will probably start a little rice cereal this next week too!
Here are a few new pictures, including a couple of our new round of 27 chicks! These are the egg layers, so they'll be around for awhile!

Rolling over!
Berkley rolled from her tummy to her back twice on Saturday, with absolutely no help from Mom or Dad! I tried to get her to do it again for a video...but no such luck. It was fun to see her do it though! She's also starting to realize it's pretty easy to just suck on her thumb instead of her whole hand...so we'll see how regular that becomes too. Here are a few new pictures from the weekend...(including a few showing off her chubby little legs and belly :) )

Berkley's 4 month Dr. Appt
Berkley had her 4 month Dr. appt on Thursday and it went just fine. She continues to be a healthy girl - and is getting so big! She's in the 95th percentile for both height & weight! She was 16lbs, 26inches. I knew she was getting tall/long when she was barely fitting into some of her 6 month one-piece outfits!
The doc didn't say he saw any official teething signs, and it is a little early...so who knows. She got an official clean bill of health though, so that's the important thing! She goes back in another 2 months.
Here are a few recent pictures...

Changes at the farm...the front porch
Ben's been hard at work on the house during his time off (when he's not being a great Daddy of course), and started working on tearing off the front porch (road-side porch). He waited a few weeks past when we was planning on starting because of new kittens living in it. If anyone wants any... ;)
It totally makes the house look different without it, and it's exciting to know that someday in the not too far future we'll have a new room taking it's place!

Changes at the farm...The Grainery
The Grainery
We had the foundation fixed last year, and are now getting ready to make it a more usable space. Ben emptied it out, and had cement poured inside, and on the backside as well (where Ben will build a backside room). He's changing the front portion doors and added a side window as well. We'll soon be using it for storage, and a workshop for Ben!

A very happy Mother's Day!
I had a nice first Mother's Day weeked with my sweet baby girl, loving husband, and our parents! On Saturday Ben and I used a gift certificate we had gotten as a wedding gift to see "Almost, Maine" at the Overture Center. Mom & Dad Cerny watched Berkley while we were out, and then stayed for dinner and to play some cards. They gave me a "Mother and Child" pendant, something that's kind of a "rite of passage" in the family for new Mom's.
On Sunday, Ben had a beautiful flower bouquet for me and a very nice card, and we went to brunch while Mom & Dad Weber watched the little one. We went back there for a yummy dinner and to celebrate Mother's Day with them. We took a few 1st Mother's Day pictures while we were there, and got a few other good shots of our cutie sleeping on Grandpa.

Berkley - 16 weeks old
Berkley continues to be doing great! I weighed her this past weekend and she's was 15.4 pounds! She's got those typical chunky baby thighs which are super cute and go with her chubby little cheeks. She's giggling and smiling a lot, and continuing to be sleeping well in the evenings. The past week we've started to think she might be starting some teething, showing the majority of the symptoms. No actual teeth or major swelling that we can tell though - so who really knows.
Her eyes are still maintaining their blue color, and Grandma Weber is keeping her fingers crossed that they'll stay that way! We'll see if anything changes...but supposedly they'll change by 6 months if they are going to.
Ben's enjoying his time at home with her and they are getting along great. Berkley loves her "Daddy Time" and the little games he plays with her! I'm also still doing fine at work, but it's hard to believe I've been back for a month already!

Daddy's changing faces...
Since being off of work, Ben's decided not to shave much. I thought I should document the "hairiness" before it was gone. He can actually pull off the full beard look without too much trouble...he's got that "rugged" look thing going for him.
So then on Sunday this past weekend he decides it's time to shave...but had some fun along he way. He's now sporting a moustache...but just for laughs. It is not a permanant fixture, don't worry. The good thing is he doesn't really go anywhere...so no one will really see him with it. It's just the funniest thing and I cannot look at him without laughing.
A few new chicken pics
They just keep getting bigger and bigger - they have been here about 3.5 weeks. What's more? In just a couple of weeks we'll have 25 egg layers here as well. There shouldn't be too much overlap though before the first batch are "gone"...
